Sarah's Track Meet
Sarah has joined the middle school track team this year. She's had 2 meets so far and seems to really enjoy it. She runs the mile, 1/2 mile & 4x400 relay. She also does the high jump for her field event.
She had a tough meet yesterday - it was 90 degrees and 70% humidity! This picture is the start of her mile run. She ran it in 7:07 which is a little slower for her than normal. Last week she ran her mile in 6:36.

Natalie's Nest
Ever since I bought some new blankets for the family room, Natalie follows the same pattern every morning. She comes downstairs and says, "can you make my nest?" It all started when the weather turned cold and she would need a blanket to stay warm in the morning. One morning I wrapped her up in the new blanket with the sherpa (which is REALLY soft) so that she wouldn't have to lay on the cold leather couch. Her nickname is Peeper so I told her she was in her nest. Now it's an early morning tradition - make her nest, put on Cat in the Hat and have some chocolate milk.

Riding the Northstar
Steve and I decided to take the girls on a little adventure into the city. Ever since the Northstar commuter train started running, Natalie has been anxiously waiting for her chance to try it out.

The train runs from Anoka into downtown Minneapolis with the final stop at Twins Stadium. The trip is about 25 minutes on a double decker train.
Once we got downtown, we hopped on the Lightrail for a few blocks and got off at Nicollet Mall - that's where the shops are! Sarah and Natalie both had some Christmas money and wanted to do a little shopping. After about an hour and a half, we headed back to the train for the ride home. It was the perfect length of time for Steve and Natalie ~ Kim and Sarah could've shopped a little longer :-).
